The agreement due to start on 1 June 2022 will allow 500,000 metric tons of steel annually to be imported duty free, with higher amounts subject to tariffs. The U.K. will also end retaliatory tariffs on more than $500 million worth of U.S. exports, including distilled spirits, agriculture products and consumer goods. UK: Cabinet Office prepares for "inevitable" no deal brexit By: Max Chambers City of London Newsroom The UK Government has launched a vast cross-media "get ready for Brexit" campaign as it prepares to limit the fallout for both businesses and citizens for the UKs scheduled departure from the EU on the 31st of October without a deal. The Cabinet Office launched its ‘Get Ready for Brexit’ initiative yesterday [Sunday, 1st September] which is scheduled to run across all major platforms including social media & tv, reinforced with a huge poster campaign. GEOPoliticalMatters.com/PRWire Renewables Take Lion’s Share of Global Power Additions in 2021 IRENA : New data released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) shows that renewable energy continued to grow and gain momentum despite global uncertainties. By the end of 2021, global renewable generation capacity amounted to 3 064 Gigawatt (GW), increasing the stock of renewable power by 9.1 per cent. Although hydropower accounted for the largest share of the global total renewable generation capacity with 1 230 GW, IRENA’s Renewable Capacity Statistics 2022  shows that solar and wind continued to dominate new generating capacity. Together, both technologies contributed 88 per cent to the share of all new renewable capacity in 2021.
